I recently preached a message called The Rise of the Praying Church. God has said that His house is a house of prayer (see Matthew 21:13). In the book of Acts we can see that the early church was a praying church and that God moved in answer to their prayers. It is time to recover this type of prayer in our day!
In this message, I preached from Acts 12. Peter was put in prison, but the church was relentlessly praying on his behalf and God intervened powerfully. The church that Jesus is building is a praying church. When we prioritize the place of prayer–both privately and corporately–we invite God to move in our midst and partner with Him to advance His kingdom!
