There is a tendency in the church to only know God as the I WAS and as the I WILL BE, but we need to also know Him as the I AM. It is easy to dwell on what God has done in the past and believe Him for what He will do in the future, but it is faith that is needed to believe God to move now. And this faith cannot be conjured up or created in a moment. It is only born out of consistent, authentic relationship with God.
In this message, I preach out of John 11 where Martha only knew Jesus as the I WILL BE as she wrestled through Lazarus’s death. As we prioritize our relationship and intimacy with the Father, we will grow in the faith that is needed to know God as I AM.
