The Cry for Spiritual Fathers

With Father’s day coming up this Sunday, I wanted to share a sermon that I preached last year called “Honoring our Fathers.”
The theme of honoring our fathers and mothers runs throughout the Bible. One of the Ten commandments reads, “Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may be well with you in the land which the Lord your God is giving you.” (Deuteronomy 5:16). Both Jesus and Paul quoted this passage and reemphasized the important truth of honoring our fathers.
In this message I talk about the important role of fathers and how we are to honor them. I also talk about how God is our ultimate Father. He is able to make up for any hurts you may have received from a bad relationship with your father, and He is able to make up for our own deficiencies as fathers.
