Sermon: The Show is Over!

Toward the end of 2020, I was in a prayer meeting when the Holy Spirit dropped a simple statement into my heart: “The show is over!” As I pondered this phrase over the next several days, the Lord brought be to the story in Mark 11 where Jesus cleaned out the temple and cursed the unfruitful fig tree. Soon after this I preached a message on this topic as our church was preparing for a time of prayer and fasting to start the new year.

Once again, God is in the process of cleansing His house. We have often allowed the appearance of success to take the place of true and lasting fruit. We have allowed corruption into the house of God, and the Lord is coming to expose darkness and purify His church. This is a sobering, but necessary work of the Holy Spirit in our times. God is calling His people to a purity of heart and fresh devotion to Him, and dealing with the corruption that has crept into His house!
